Production Begins on Craig Lamar Brown’s ‘Shooting Doves’
Exciting news to share today as production has officially started on Four by Three’s latest film Shooting Doves.
Shooting Doves is a love story about two musicians that fall in love while attempting to reconcile their racial differences to overcome adversity in their relationship.
Shooting Doves was written by Andrea Summer VonAllmen and Craig Lamar Brown, with Brown to direct and VonAllmen to star alongside David Driskill. The ensemble cast is rounded out by K-Drama, James Troup and Susan Jung.
Brown started writing the the screenplay for Shooting Doves last summer in the midst of COVID-19 and racial division. With all of the negativity surrounding race relations through media, Craig thought that everyone could experience racial reconciliation through the lens of a love story set to music.
“I thought the best way to bring forth racial reconciliation was through a love story that has an inspiring musical theme… Something that would break down the walls that we as broken people often put up out of fear. Sometimes we are all trying to say the same thing that gets lost in translation due to our personal experiences. However, when we take a step back to see someone else as we see ourselves, that’s when real change can happen.” Brown said in a statement released to the media on Monday.
The film’s production is set to take place in Cincinnati from mid-May to late July. Craig Lamar Brown, Ashlee Mello and Chase Crawford serve as the film’s Executive Producer’s. Micah Simms will serve as the film’s Director of Photography.
Brown Brown Media, Uncommon CRTV and Four by Three present Shooting Doves a Craig Lamar Brown film, coming Spring 2022.
