Four by Three, Moncharlé Studios to co-produce The Maddening of Marsella
We are happy to share that pre-production has officially started on The Maddening of Marsella, a co-production between Four by Three and Moncharlé Studios.
The Maddening of Marsella is a dark satire about Marsella Grimes, a failing young black artist who is persuaded at the creepy behest of three evil spirits to create works of art that drive her profits, but eventually threaten to cost her and her close friends their sanity and self-respect. The film’s production is taking place in this Spring in Cincinnati, Ohio.
The Maddening of Marsella is a zany, fantastical-leaning comedy/thriller that will bring to mind such unique films such as Beetlejuice, Being John Malkovich, and Scott Pilgrim vs. the World.
The film is being produced by Chase Crawford, and directed by Markus-Charles Cook, with a script written by Markus Cook and Erica Bock. Chase Crawford and Markus Cook will also serve as the film’s Executive Producers.
Cook and Crawford previously worked together on Alan and the Fullness of Time, a film shot in the Cincinnati-area in 2017.
