CINCINNATI, OH — Four by Three has acquired distribution rights to documentary feature HARDFACE

Shot on 16mm film, HARDFACE explores the enduring bond between fighter and trainer, providing an inside look at the amateur boxing experience. Two promising young fighters embark on the journey to become the gym’s next champions. The past merges with the present through family archive footage and interviews, revealing why Falcone’s fighters ‘always come home.’

For over thirty years, the Falcone family has run a boxing program for youth escaping life on the streets, hoping for a shot as professional fighters

The film, directed by Mark Hood, features interviews with Richard ‘Hardface’ Mason, Chris Crockett, David Carlton, John Falcone, Linda Falcone, Giovanni Falcone and Luciano Falcone. The film was shot on location in Cincinnati, Ohio and Oxnard, California.

Richard ‘Hardface’ Mason is the driving force behind this feature-length documentary as fighter-turned-trainer at Cincinnati’s struggling Northside Boxing Gym.

Spanning five years of production, HARDFACE is Mark Hood’s first feature length film. The film was an official selection of the North Carolina Black Film Festival, Cindependent Film Festival, First Friday Films in Los Angeles and Indie Night Film Festival in Los Angeles.
